I went out for a couple of beer with a friend after work on Thursday and to my surprise the server was a girl I went to high school with.  In the 15 years (gulp, that seems like a really long time!) since we graduated I have only seen her a handful of times, usually in whatever establishment she happens to be serving at.  For the most part I think she has had a fairly tough go of it since she moved away from home.  Rumors have been heard about domestic battery, drug abuse and prostitution, but who knows how much of it you can believe?  It now seems like she has it all together and her life on track.  She's been in the same job for a couple of years, been with the same guy for seven years (not the same guy that the domestic abuse rumors were about) and she finally looks healthy, not heroin skinny like she did the last time I saw her.  It was awesome to see her looking great and to find out that she's doing well.
